‘Celtic fans won’t be happy’ – Brendan Rodgers ‘likely’ to quit
Celtic have had a poor start to the season so far despite their drop in form being overshadowed by the disaster their Glasgow neighbours are enduring.
Brendan Rodgers’ side lost 2-0 to Dundee on 19 October, leaving them second in the league, five points behind league leaders Hearts.
The Hoops are also winless in Europe so far after dropping out of the Champions League in a shock defeat to Kazakhstan club Kairat, leaving them in the Europa League.
While Rangers’ struggles, where they have won just one league game all season, have dominated headlines, frustrations are beginning to grow at Parkhead.
That comes amid ongoing speculation about the manager’s future, as Football Insider revealed Celtic’s contract talks with Rodgers have not progressed as hoped.
Rogers is out of contract at the end of the season, and while there is hope from the board that he will renew his terms, the looming uncertainty remains.

Brendan Rodgers could quit Celtic amid growing frustrations
Football Insider revealed on 10 October that Rodgers is considering leaving Celtic after failing to make progress in contract talks with the club.
Now, the boss is growing increasingly likely to leave Parkhead amid a feeling that things have gone stale as a result of the lack of backing and ambition from the board.
That is according to former Man United and Sunderland chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that the turmoil on and off the pitch at Celtic could see Rodgers walk away.
“Brendan Rodgers is growing increasingly likely to leave Celtic,” he told Football Insider.
“I’ve had that feeling since the start of the season, because he wanted backed from the board and the board weren’t prepared to put their hands in their pockets.
“All of a sudden, they’re knocked out of the Champions League and falling behind in the league.
“They’re not getting that pressure from Rangers, which in any other period of time would’ve been quite heavy and maybe put some more scrutiny on Celtic.
“Ultimately, it’s the manager who takes the blame if results aren’t good enough.

“Even with the protests against the board, I expect some Celtic fans won’t be happy with Rodgers, especially if results continue as they have been so far.
“It feels to me like things have started to go a bit stale, some of their usual reliable players have gone off the boil and there isn’t that imperious feeling there usually is at Celtic.
“Maybe they’ll get to a point where a parting of the ways is best for everybody.”
Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed on 17 October that Rodgers could join a Premier League club as he remains very highly rated in managerial circles.
Celtic fan protests starting to turn on Rodgers
As a result of their poor start, concerns are beginning to grow both behind the scenes and amongst the supporters at Parkhead, with frustrations now starting to boil over.
Celtic fans have protested against the board as a result of their lack of ambition in recent years, but many are now also directing their anger towards Rodgers.
Their poor start to the season both domestically and in Europe have raised concerns, with the manager ultimately taking the blame for their poor results.
Chris Sutton has slammed Rodgers’ decision-making, particularly following the defeat to Dundee, and has questioned his recent team selections.
The unrest behind the scenes at Parkhead is now beginning to show on the pitch, with many growing tired and demanding changes right from the top of the club.
