Celtic fans wowed by what Paulo Bernardo did for Portugal U-21s
Paulo Bernardo left Celtic fans stunned with his performance for Portugal’s Under-21s side in their victory against Croatia on 10 September.
Portugal took all three points after a comfortable 2-0 victory in their UEFA Under-21 Euro clash, with Bernardo getting on the scoresheet alongside Carlos Forbes.
On top of his goal, the Celtic man was selected to captain the side as he led them to an impressive victory on the road.
Having spent last season on loan at Parkhead, Brendan Rodgers made his return a priority in the transfer window, and the club eventually pulled off a deal.
The £3.5million fee paid to Benfica for his services has already been labelled a “bargain” by supporters, and his international exploits are serving as further proof of that claim.
Bernardo has been tipped as one for the future in Portugal as well as in Glasgow, and is being set up for a step into the senior squad if his performances continue to impress.
