Celtic have a big decision to make in their goalkeeping department this summer as they look to decide their number one going forward.

In recent weeks, Viljami Sinisalo has been given the nod in goal and has been quick to impress.

The Finland international came in for Kasper Schmeichel, who had a dire few months before confirming that he was out for the rest of the campaign, injured.

Now, after impressing again on international duty in a 2-0 victory over New Zealand, he is showing to everyone at Celtic Park why he should keep his spot in the starting XI next season.

Viljami Sinisalo once again impressed for Finland

On Friday, Sinisalo was given the nod to start against New Zealand in a surprise twist as he kept the captain and Monaco star, Lukas Hradecky, out of the lineup.

However, he did not waste this chance, as he kept a clean sheet, making two saves on his way to achieving this.

On top of this, his passing ability was also impressive, with 87 per cent reaching a Finnish teammate.

While this display was only against New Zealand, it is worth remembering that the Oceania side are set to go to the World Cup finals in the summer, unlike Finland, meaning the result was impressive for the visitors.

For Sinisalo, it once again proves that he is becoming a top goalkeeper, as his CV continues to grow with more and more impressive feats.

As a result, Celtic should reward the keeper and confirm him as the number one for next season.

The 24-year-old has more than earned this role, and this could help the Hoops save millions, with these transfer funds being directed to more important areas.

Will Celtic target a goalkeeper in the summer?

Football Insider has exclusively revealed that Celtic may not sign a goalkeeper to be number one in the summer.

Sinisalo’s performances have impressed them, and they could now end plans to bring in a top keeper.

However, the Hoops may still need a backup. Schmeichel will surely depart in the summer when his contract expires.

As a result, Celtic may still need to sign another keeper to provide competition for Sinisalo and come in if the Finland international is ever injured or suspended.
