Celtic have ‘big problem’ after confirmed news – McAvennie
Frank McAvennie has hailed Ange Postecoglou’s Celtic signings.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Hoops striker said fans are not used to the Parkhead club being so proactive before a transfer window has even opened.
The Green and Whites have already confirmed two signings ahead of the January window.
On 23 November the Celts announced the arrival of Japanese central defender Yuki Kobayashi on a five-year deal.
The centre-back joins fellow countrymen Kyogo Furuhashi, Reo Hatate, Daizen Maeda and Ideguchi, all signed by Postecoglou.
On Saturday (3 December), the Parkhead club also confirmed the signing of Canada international Alistair Johnston following his side’s World Cup exit.
The right-back also joins on a five-year deal.
As quoted by Glasgow World last month (8 November), Postecoglou confirmed that most of the preparation for the January window has been finished.
The Australian added that he would be used the remainder of the winter break to start preparing for next summer’s window.
McAvennie insisted the signings are a new phenomenon for Hoops fans.
“The big problem we have got at Celtic supporters is that we are not used to this,” he told Football Insider.

“We are not used to them buying way before it happens. They usually wait and only bring in somebody in January if it is a must.
“He has already brought in the two defenders, that is done and now he is going to bring in a striker.“
