Celtic have found their ‘Ally McCoist’ as wind-up footage emerges on Twitter

Frank McAvennie was delighted by Greg Taylor’s dig at Alfredo Morelos when Celtic faced Rangers last week (2 January).

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Hoops striker said his derby rival Ally McCoist was “one of the worst” for making digs at players.

Taylor went down injured less than 20 minutes into the derby last Monday due to a hamstring problem that had been present before the game.

As Morelos tried to hassle the 25-year-old back to his feet, Taylor appeared to call the striker “fat boy” in videos emerging on Twitter.

Back in August, the Rangers striker was dropped by former manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst due to concerns over his fitness and attitude and Taylor was more than happy to remind Morelos of those concerns when the sides met last week.

When asked if he likes to see players winding each other up, McAvennie told Football Insider:Of course.

I was terrible for that back in the day but I took it back.

There were a lot worse than me, Ally McCoist was one of the worst.

I like seeing that because it shows that for 90 minutes they are not your friends no matter what way you look at them. I have not got a problem with that.”

Celtic remain nine points clear at top of the Scottish Premiership thanks to a 2-0 win over Kilmarnock on Saturday (7 January).

They face Killie once again in the League Cup semi-final on Saturday (14 January).
