Celtic have impetus to put on much improved display v Hamilton after Saturday results
COMMENT
The most recent results in the Scottish Premiership – Rangers defeating Dundee, and Aberdeen losing to Hearts – means that Celtic only need two more wins to clinch the title, the first of these the trip to Hamilton on Sunday.
Brendan Rodgers should look at the results and give his players the freedom to play with a point to prove, as a victory would move them only one win away from clinching the title.
The team didn’t play with any freedom creativity in the recent match against Dundee, which saw them stumble to a tedious 0-0 draw.
The team should surely grab the impetus from Aberdeen’s result in particular, to put on a display against Hamilton.
It could be a day for flair players such as Patrick Roberts and Charly Musonda, who haven’t featured much for the Hoops this season, but who are more than good enough to put Hamilton, who are involved in a relegation battle are in ninth place in the league, to the sword.
Despite being on the verge of a seventh consecutive league title and two games away from domestic treble, the Hoops haven’t played that well at times in the Premier League.
If there’s a day to right a few wrongs it’s against Hamilton, and it will also give the Hoops a confidence boost ahead of the upcoming Scottish Cup semi-final v Rangers.
