Celtic have ‘one thing’ over Rangers as Josip Juranovic image emerges – McAvennie

Frank McAvennie has hailed the relationships Ange Postecoglou has created at Celtic.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Green and Whites striker said one thing the Celts have that Rangers don’t is a close-knit group of players.

As shown on the Hoops’ Twitter account (5 December), Daizen Maeda and Josip Juranovic can be seen hugging following Japan’s defeat to Croatia in the World Cup last 16.

As quoted by the Mail (5 December), Juranovic said he reached out to his Celtic teammate to congratulate him for scoring in the match.

The Hoops defender said that although he was delighted for Croatia, he was upset for Maeda.

McAvennie stressed the importance of players having good relationships.

It is vitally important,” he told Football Insider.

When I was at West Ham, we were all very friendly. You could see that on the pitch when we were playing, we were like brothers.

We did the hard work all week and then got to enjoy ourselves in the game. That is the same at Celtic.

Celtic

Ange has brought something to the table that I can’t remember ever being at Celtic. I think he has done a wonderful job and created that harmony.

Somebody from Croatia being so close with somebody from Japan, that just shows you the closeness of the team. So it is only good. That is one thing Celtic have that Rangers do not.
