Celtic hero digs at Rangers fans over Giovanni van Bronckhorst 'overreaction'
Giovanni van Bronckhorst will still be in charge of Rangers at the start of next season.
That’s according to former Celtic hitman Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Gers’ manager’s future.
Rangers have blown an eight-point lead at the top of the Premiership under Van Bronckhorst’s leadership.
Celtic now sit six points clear at the top of the table with just six games left of the Premiership season.
However, McAvennie has dismissed suggestions Van Bronckhorst will be replaced during the close season.
“When you are the manager of Rangers or Celtic you are always under pressure,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“You are under pressure if your side loses a throw-in, never mind an Old Firm.
“That’s the nature of the beast and he knew what he was getting into.
“He’s a good coach and he has shown that in Europe, this is a manager who beat Dortmund.
“Yes, it would have been a different story if Haaland was playing. Is that completely down to luck?
“You do get a bit of luck in football but it’s not all luck. Emotions run high after a derby.
“You see a bit of that, an overreaction. Fans over-react. I don’t think he will be sacked but maybe the pressure is on a bit more now.
“I think he will be there at the start of next season.”
Rangers are next in league action against St Mirren on Sunday (10 April).
This is the final league game before the split.
