Sources: Celtic lose out on signing, he's starting medical with new club after £5m fee agreed
Celtic have lost out on signing Andraz Sporar as he undergoes a medical at Sporting Lisbon today, Football Insider can reveal.
The Hoops have been in discussions this month about recruiting the prolific Slovan Bratislava centre-forward.
But he is heading to Sporting and, a Portugese source has told Football Insider, is putting the finishing touches to the transfer today.
The Primera Liga outfit have agreed a fee of £5million for the 25-year-old and he is set to put pen to paper on a three-and-a-half year contract.
Sporting expect him to sign today and an announcement over the transfer should follow soon afterwards.
Celtic had shortlisted Sporar for this month and working on trying to prise him from Bratislava.

But they eventually moved for Polish forward Patryk Klimala and he signed last week in a £3.5m deal.
The 21-year-old came off the bench to make his debut in last weekend’s 2-1 Scottish Cup win against Partick Thistle and is set to provide competition up front for senior pair Odsonne Edouard and Leigh Griffiths in the second half of the campaign.
In what is turning out to be a busy window for the Scottish champions, Neil Lennon has publicly stated a deal is close to sign midfielder Ismaila Soro.
Sporar has been in outstanding scoring touch this season for Bratislava, with his 20 goals from 26 matches including seven in the Europa League.
The 19-times Slovenia international has a magnificent haul of 60 goals from 78 matches for Bratislava.
In other Celtic news, it can be REVEALED that the club have slapped a £12m price tag on player as English giants work on signing him by next week.
