Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton has suggested that he wasn’t surprised to see Rangers lose against Hamilton at Ibrox on Saturday.
The Gers fell to a humiliating 2-0 defeat on their home turf to the Accies, who finished the game with 10 men after Alexandros Gogic was given his marching orders in the late phases of the game.
Ex-Rangers player David Templeton fired Hamilton ahead in the 47th minute, despite Graeme Murty’s side looking on top for the opening half.
Any hope of a comeback was killed off in the 80th minute though, as Darren Lyon doubled Hamilton’s lead and ensured them of three points to improve their position in the Scottish Premiership.
Rangers missed the chance to leapfrog Aberdeen and Hibernian by failing to win against the Accies as they both suffered surprise home defeats.
The big winners of the day were no doubt Celtic, who are now six points ahead of the chasing pack after winning 1-0 against Ross County earlier in the day.
And ex-Parkhead striker Sutton was quick to take a swipe at Rangers after the game on Saturday, claiming that it didn’t take him aback to see Murty’s men lose and fail to win their third game in a row.
“Is it really such a huge surprise Rangers losing to Hamilton?” he said on his personal Twitter account.

That result may have given the Gers board some extra thinking to do about the next permanent manager now as Murty has been in caretaker charge for over three weeks since Pedro Caixinha was sacked.
In other Rangers news, fans took to Twitter to annihilate this “liability” of a senior player after the Hamilton defeat.
