Kieran Maguire: Celtic in line for ‘seven-figure’ windfall after £50m talks on Monday
Celtic could make as much as £2.5million per year if the SPFL are able to increase the value of their broadcast deal.
That is the view of finance guru Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the findings of a recent investigation from Deloitte.
The financial consultancy firm has advised that the SPFL could earn as much as £50m per year in TV money, an £18m increase on the current deal.

And BBC Sport reported on Monday (20 December) that clubs would discuss the valuation at a board meeting held that same day.
Maguire assessed the investigation and revealed how much the Hoops could stand to gain if the SPFL are able to renegotiate.
“The winners of the SPFL normally get around 15 per cent of the total prize pot,” he told Football Insider‘s Adam Williams.
“The total prize pot is not the same as the value of the deal because you then have to pay out for consultants’ fees and running fees of the SPFL and so on.
“But if there’s another £18m on top of that, 15 per cent is £2.5m and 10 per cent is the best part of £2m.
“These are seven-figure increments at a time when these clubs do need every single penny because they have been hit by Covid.”

Deloitte’s report was commissioned by Aberdeen, Dundee, Dundee United, Hearts and Hibernian.
Celtic scooped £17m from media and commercial activities, including Europa League broadcast income, in the last recorded financial year.
