Huge fitness boost for Celtic as key man confirms imminent return
By John Reid
Celtic defender Erik Sviatchenko is set to return to the Celtic squad for the club’s relentless run of games between now and the winter break at the beginning of December.
Speaking to CelticTV, as reported in the Evening Times, the Danish defender said “I think we are aiming to get me fully fit for games as soon as possible.
“I can’t wait to get back. Injuries are a part of football but there has been a lot to the central defenders and Kristoffer Ajer has done brilliantly. Everyone takes their chances and when they do it is about showing the great quality that we have.”
Sviatchenko played in all of Celtic’s Champions League games last season but as yet has only featured in the qualifying games this season due to injury.
Celtic return from their international break to play Ross County this weekend, the first of 14 games in two months before the winter break.
