Celtic captain Scott Brown always seems to be hitting the headlines, and he is once more at the centre of plenty of attention.
Firstly, he was involved in an altercation with Motherwell manager Stephen Robinson at half-time of the match between the Hoops and Motherwell at Fir Park on Sunday.
The altercation in the tunnel came about, as reported by the Daily Record, because Robinson felt that Brown had got Cedric Kipre sent-off.
Secondly, notorious Rangers flop Joey Barton appeared on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on TalkSport and claimed that Brown had ‘cheated’ to get Kipre sent-off and that the player is ‘not the full shilling’, as reported by the Daily Record.
All the noise and controversy won’t make a bit of difference to Brown’s attitude or the way he plays – in fact he wouldn’t have it any other way.
Brown, who is the mainstay of the Hoops side with 46 appearances so far this season, loves the attention that he generates. It only adds to his game, which was shown last season when he schooled Joey Barton in the Hoops’ 5-1 Old Firm victory at Celtic Park.
It is unlikely that Brown has that many more years ahead of him left in his career, as he has dealt with some serious injuries in the past. Supporters should treasure these memories that Brown gives them, as he won’t be easily replaced.
