Celtic’s on-loan striker Odsonne Edouard showed that he has all the potential in the world with his second-half display in the 3-2 win over Rangers, and the Hoops must move to sign the player on a permanent deal from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer.
The Daily Record are reporting that Brendan Rodgers is still weighing up his options when it comes to signing the PSG centre-foreard on a permanent deal, but his goal on Sunday showed why the Bhoys must bite the bullet and pay the £7million that is said to be required.
The Euro giants player showed superb composure to curl home the winning goal in what what was a title winning victory for the Hoops, the situation didn’t phase him at all, which bodes well for his future in the game.
As a player that isn’t guaranteed a first-team start every week, Edouard has done well to score nine goals so far this season and his partnership with Moussa Dembele has worked a treat in the few occasions it has been tried out.
£7million might be a lot of money for the Hoops to pay for a player but the potential is there to more than make it back when the player eventually leaves the club, as no doubt a host on English Premier League clubs would be interested in the player.
Celtic haven’t always gambled when it comes to paying big money for players – Edouard must be an exception to that rule.
