Celtic could well be in the market to sell players in the summer, perhaps to fund some moves for players who would make a big impact in the Champions League.
One player who should be first in line to be sold is the former Hoops mainstay Jozo Simunovic, who has never recovered in the eyes of Brendan Rodgers or the Hoops support from a catastrophic performance in the Bhoys’ 4-0 loss to Hearts.
It is odd that Simunovic’s stock has plummeted so quickly, as he looked set to be a regular for many years to come earlier in the season, but his confidence was knocked by the Hearts defeat.
Since then he has only started six matches and his saw his place in the first-team taken by Kristoffer Ajer, who has been a revelation for the Bhoys.
At only 23-years-old, Simunonivc still has a long future ahead of him in the game, and he does have good performances in him, such as a fine display in the 3-0 Champions League victory over Anderlecht.
But it looks like his time at the Hoops has come and gone, and he is unlikely to be a first-team regular for the Hoops again. The player has almost left the Hoops in the past, as he almost joined Torino in 2015, and since then there has been a nagging doubt about his future with the Bhoys.
Now is the time to cash in though, and the player will no doubt go with the fans’ best wishes and question marks about how he managed to fall so fast in Glasgow.
In other Celtic news, the Hoops must move fast to sign Odsonne Edouard
