Celtic must forget about over-priced international valued at £5m after reported hunt to sign
With the summer transfer window set to open in two months time, there is already plenty of speculation about players that might be signing for Celtic.
One player that has been linked for a long time is the 23-year Hibernian midfielder John McGinn, who was the subject of speculation in the January transfer window when the Daily Mail reported that the Hoops and West Ham were both in the hunt to sign the player.
However, the Hoops should forget about making a move in the summer for the Scotland international as he will be way too over-priced.
Hibernian boss Neil Lennon, as quoted in the Scottish Sun, claims that the Easter Road side will be looking for “£5million” for the player, which is far too much for a player who still has to prove that he can really cut it at the top level.
There’s no doubt that Hibernian will be looking for more money for the player after he impressed for Scotland in their recent win over Hungary, but there’s little to no chance of Brendan Rodgers and the Hoops board even thinking about paying that kind of money for McGinn.

There’s no doubt that McGinn could go on to be a very decent player in the future, but at the moment even at his age his is still just a prospect, and one who isn’t worth the money that Hibernian will be demanding for him.
