The Daily Record have released a list of players who are out-of-contract at the end of the season, and a name that jumps out as one Celtic should approach is Kilmarnock’s Youssouf Mulumbu.
The 30-year-old midfielder has been superb for Kilmarnock since joining Steve Clarke’s side earlier this season.
He was particularly good in Killie’s recent 2-1 win over Rangers where he controlled the midfield, the Gers found it difficult to get the ball from him.
Mulumbu has helped Kilmarnock’s climb up the Scottish Premiership table, and he has the top-level experience required to play for a club like Celtic, as he spent years helping West Brom establish themselves as a regular Premier League fixture.
He would be a good player for the likes of Eboue Kouassi and Olivier Ntcham to learn from, as they lack the experience of the ex-DR Congo international.
The midfield warrior, known for his work-rate and combative spirit, would also be perfect to replace Scott Brown when the Hoops captain is in need of a break, as Brown looked in danger of burning out just before the winter break.
If possible the Hoops should try and get the player into the club in January, but if not he should definitely be signed in the summer, his experience could be invaluable in the Champions League qualifiers.
