Celtic must seal deal for top flight 21-year-old who is proven one-man match winner
Patrick Roberts returned to the Celtic starting line-up for the first time since November in the match against Hamilton, and he immediately showed what the Hoops had been missing by providing an assist for a goal by Callum McGregor in only the third minute of the game.
The 21-year-old is set to return to Manchester City after his loan spell ends at the end of the season, but if possible Brendan Rodgers and the Hoops board must find a way to sign the player on a permanent deal.
Being realistic, the player is not going to get much of a chance at Manchester City, who have a huge squad full of players that are far better than Roberts.
By Scottish football standards though, Roberts is without a doubt one of the best players in the league, and is more than capable of winning a match with a moment of individual brilliance.
He has also done well in Europe for the Bhoys, his only goal so far this season coming in the 3-0 Champions League group stage win over Anderlecht.

A swoop for Roberts would be a real statement of intent by the Hoops going into next season, and the player would be delighted at the outcome as well, as he has really taken to Celtic in his two loan spells at the club.
The Hoops should do all they can to keep Roberts at the club, it would be a major boost for the support if they were able to persuade Manchester City to sell him
