Celtic must wrap up 26-yr-old deal before they get drawn into unnecessary transfer battle

COMMENT

Celtic need to get their loan signing Scott Bain tied down on a permanent deal as they run the risk of losing him to England.

The Scottish Sun is reporting that both Stoke and Wolves are interested in signing the player who has been a massive success since joining the Hoops in January from Dundee.

Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers recently indicated, as reported by the Daily Record, that he would like to get the 26-year-old to stay at the club on a permanent deal.

The Hoop will have to act quickly if this is the case, as both Stoke and Wolves would be able to offer the player far more money than he is likely to make in Glasgow.

Bain might not be tempted by Stoke, who are on the verge of relegation to the Championship as they sit in 19th place in the Premier League.

He might well be interested in a move to Championship leaders Wolves though, who are on the verge of clinching promotion and look to be going places.

Bain has done very well since joining the Hoops, with stand-out performances in the matches against Rangers and Motherwell.

He looks like a more than credible contender to Craig Gordon’s position as Hoops number one, and it would be a blow if he were to move on in the summer.
