Celtic must cut their losses and sell mainstay before he turns into a liability

A Celtic player who has been under plenty of scrutiny from supporters recently is Swedish international right-back Mikael Lustig.
The 31-year-old was heavily criticised for his performance in the recent 2-1 win over Partick Thistle, where he was guilty of conceding a penalty and was substituted at half-time.
Brendan Rodgers has given a reason for the poor performance, as the Scottish Sun have reported that Rodgers has revealed that Lustig has been struggling with an Achilles injury and will be out of action for a few weeks.
Partly because of this injury, the Hoops should look to sell Lustig at the end of the season, and either buy a new right-back or give Anthony Ralston a chance.
Lustig is burnt-out as he has played too many games which has affected his form, which has tailed off considerably.
The situation will be even worse next season as after playing for Sweden in the World Cup in the summer he will get very little break before he is faced with the Hoops’ hugely important Champions League group stage qualifiers just a few weeks later.
Playing Lustig in those games seems like an accident waiting to happen, and steps should be made that he leaves in the summer with the best wishes of all at the club after five trophy laden seasons in Glasgow.
