Celtic have already made two signings in the January transfer window, with centre-back Marvin Compper joining from Leipzig, and winger Lewis Morgan joining from St Mirren – although he is being loaned back there until the end of the season.
There is one area of the park though which the Hoops really have to invest in in January – and that is at left-back.
The Bhoys have been without a back-up to senior ace Kieran Tierney since the departure of Emilio Izaguirre last summer.
As for the player that should be signed to be the back-up left-back, Rodgers will be hunting far and wide for a suitable candidate but one who perhaps should be considered is Dundee ace Cammy Kerr, who can play at both left and right-back.
Kerr has performed very well for a Dundee side who were expected to struggle this season but who are clear of the relegation have picked up a notable victories over Rangers. His versatility in being able to place two positions could also help the squad overall.
Rodgers has showed his willingness to invest in Scottish players with the signing of Morgan, he should consider making a move for Kerr, who was last year voted by Dundee fans as their player of the year and at 22-years-old, he is destined for the top.
