Celtic news: Hoops tipped by Kenny to ‘run away’ with title after ‘brutal’ win over Rangers

Celtic could run away with the Scottish Premiership title after cruising to a 3-0 win over Rangers this week.

That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Hoops’ “unbelievable” performance.

Celtic blew Rangers away on Wednesday (2 February) and had the game won at half-time after racing into a three-goal lead.

The result sent Celtic to the top of the Premiership for the first time since August.

The Bhoys have been in fine form since the Premiership season restarted and Kenny is backing them to wrestle the title back from Rangers.

“A few weeks ago Celtic were miles off them and now they are top,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“They have managed to pull the gap back without a full-strength squad as well.

“They have now beaten Rangers and what an unbelievable win it was. It was emphatic, it was brutal.

“It could have been four or five at half time and I saw a Celtic side who are hell bent on winning this title.

“After watching that game, I can see Celtic pulling away and running away with the title now.

“Rangers were dreadful, miles off it. They don’t look like the team they were under Steven Gerrard.

“The pressure is all one them now but for me, they have to be favourites to win this title.”

Celtic are next in action against Motherwell on Sunday (6 February).

Rangers face Hearts at Ibrox on the same day.
