Celtic news: McManus issues 'massive' Ange Postecoglou claim after latest development

Celtic have already won the 2022-23 Scottish Premiership title.

That’s according to former Hibernian striker Tam McManus, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Hoops’ first half of the season..

Celtic went nine points clear at the top of the Premiership after coming from behind to beat Ross County 2-1 last Saturday (12 November).

The win came as Rangers drew 1-1 with St Mirren the same day.

McManus insists Celtic can focus on bringing home a domestic treble with the league title already in the bag.

“Well it’s over, isn’t it?” McManus told Football Insider‘s Ben Wild.

“Rangers would struggle to chase down a nine point lead at the best of times, nevermind in a season where they are really struggling anyway.

“Celtic have been incredible, just the one loss. It’s remarkable really. The title is already in the bag but you just know Postecoglou won’t let Celtic become complacent. They won’t give Rangers a route back.

“I think he wants to win the treble this season. After such a poor showing in Europe it would not surprise me if Ange was targeting a treble to almost repay the fans.

“It’s possible as well, Celtic are by far and away the best team in Scotland right now, it’s certainly possible.

“That would be a massive achievement for Ange in just his second year with the club and it’s something you can see happening.”

Celtic have won 14 of their 15 Premiership games this season.

Their sole loss came against St Mirren on 18 September.
