Celtic next manager: Ange Postecoglou odds slashed in surprise development
Celtic remain on the hunt for their manager for the 2026-27 campaign, with Ange Postecoglou looking increasingly likely to make a return.
The 60-year-old has been out of work since he left Nottingham Forest after just 39 days earlier this campaign.
With Martin O’Neill set to depart Celtic Park at the end of the season, the bookies believe that Postecoglou has a good chance of returning.
Oddschecker on 22 February have confirmed that his odds have been slashed, with the manager now just 8/1 to become the Celtic manager for the start of the new campaign.
What was Ange Postecoglou’s record at Celtic?
Postecoglou was appointed Celtic manager in 2021, and stayed in the role until 2023 until he was appointed Tottenham manager.
During this time, he oversaw a highly successful era, returning the Scottish Premiership title to Celtic Park in his first campaign as he won a domestic double.
He then improved upon this the following season, completing a domestic treble to finish off his time at the Old Firm club.

Upon leaving, he had won 83 of his 113 matches, boasting a 73.45 per cent win rate, one of the highest in the club’s history.
Who else is linked with the Celtic job?
Roberto Martinez is still the favourite for the Celtic job, at 2/1 odds.
The Portugal International manager is set to leave his role at the end of the 2026 World Cup and has been heavily linked for weeks.
Jens Berthel Askou has also emerged as the second favourite, at 3/1, with the Motherwell manager working wonders this campaign.
O’Neill follows at 6/1, with the interim manager continuing to impress in the role as he continues to clean up the mess left by Wilfried Nancy.

A potential outsider for the role is seen as Graham Potter, who is 10/1 to come in at the start of next season.
The former Chelsea boss has been out of work since he was dismissed at West Ham earlier this season, in what was a dreadful reign.
However, it remains to be seen who the Hoops look to appoint, with massive pressure on the board to get this one right after their recent misfortunes in the dugout.
