Celtic next manager: Jens Berthel Askou odds slashed, clear favourite named
While Martin O’Neill is currently at the helm, Celtic are likely to be on the hunt for a new manager in the summer when the Northern Irish coach’s contract expires
Numerous names have been linked with Motherwell manager Jens Berthel Askou, emerging as one of the favourites.
Now, as the end of the season edges closer, the odds for Askou to move to Celtic for the start of the 2026-27 campaign have been slashed.
The Motherwell manager is now the second-favourite for the role, with odds of 9/2, with Oddschecker confirming that these odds have shortened in a major development.

Jens Berthel Askou’s Motherwell record explained
Askou has raised many eyebrows this season thanks to his performance with Motherwell.
Currently, the Steelmen are fourth in the Scottish Premiership, and rescued a late draw against Rangers on Wednesday in a 1-1 stalemate.
This is not the first time Askou has masterminded a result over one of the Old Firm sides this season, with Motherwell beating Wilfried Nancy’s Celtic earlier this campaign.
With the side currently fourth in the Scottish Premiership, they are in an excellent position to return to Europe for the first time since 2022.

As a result, the second-highest win rate of any Motherwell manager in their history at 51.52 per cent.
Therefore, despite his limited experience in the Scottish Premiership since his move to Fir Park in the summer, he could prove to be an astute appointment at the Hoops.

Who else is in the running for the Celtic job?
Currently, Roberto Martinez is the favourite for the role at 7/4.
The current Portugal National Team manager has been heavily linked to Celtic Park for weeks, despite the upcoming 2026 World Cup being just around the corner.
Following this is O’Neill, who is at 6/1. The 73-year-old is seen as increasingly likely to leave at the end of the campaign, despite his success at Celtic Park so far since his return.

Potential outsiders are seen as Steve Clarke and Shaun Maloney, who are both at 10/1.
However, it remains to be seen who Celtic opt to pursue in the summer, with it not currently being clear if they will even qualify for the Champions League qualifiers next season.
