Celtic next manager: Odds tumble for Craig Bellamy to make summer switch

Celtic are still searching for their manager for the 2026-27 campaign, with Craig Bellamy continuously linked.

The former Hoops star is currently in charge of the Wales National Team, and just missed out on qualification to the 2026 World Cup in March.

Since the sacking of Wilfried Nancy in January, the 46-year-old has been regularly linked to the Old Firm club.

Now, a switch to Celtic is seen as increasingly likely at 15/2, with Oddschecker on 15 April confirming that these odds have been slashed.

Bellamy has only just started his managerial career, and could soon find himself in the Celtic dugout.

Craig Bellamy may be Celtic’s best option come the summer

As the weeks go on, Celtic have fewer and fewer options for the dugout next season.

Both Ange Postecoglou and Jens Berthel Askou have been linked to the AFC Bournemouth job in recent days, while Robbie Keane has continuously remained one of the favourites for the Crystal Palace managerial position.

Therefore, soon Bellamy could be the best option to take over, despite his limited experience.

While he has only 18 first-team games in his managerial career, he has impressed during this short time.

However, it remains to be seen if Bellamy would be prepared to leave Wales so soon.

Who is the current favourite for the Celtic job?

Former Aberdeen chief Keith Wyness exclusively told Football Insider that Celtic could already be talking to Askou as they look to prepare for the upcoming summer transfer window.

The Motherwell boss has been arguably the most-linked man to the position since the summer after a highly impressive first season in the Scottish Premiership.

As a result, the bookies have continued to back him, with the coach being the current favourite for the role at 10/3.

Keane is also the favourite alongside Askou at 10/3, with both managers yet to be ruled out.

Roberto Martinez continues to remain in the mix at 4/1 as his future at Portugal continues to be speculated upon.

A potential outsider is Postecoglou at 14/1 as he continues to search for a route back into the dugout after departing Nottingham Forest earlier this season.

However, it remains to be seen who Celtic opt to appoint, with this decision arguably being their biggest in years after the club’s recent decline on the field.
