Celtic offer for Kevin Nisbet to be rejected – expert

Frank McAvennie has suggested Kevin Nisbet would snub Celtic for a move down south.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Hoops striker insisted Nisbet’s injury problems should be a concern for Ange Postecoglou’s side.

On 16 January, the Scottish Sun reported that the 25-year-old is back on Celtic’s radar as he enters the final 18 months of his contract with Hibernian.

The striker has made six appearances for the Easter Road club this season after returning from an ACL injury that has kept him on the sidlelines since March.

He has scored seven goals and provided one assist in those outings.

The Green and Whites look set to lose current second choice striker Giorgos Giakoumakis after accepting a bid from J-League side Urawa Red Diamonds.

McAvennie is unsure if Nisbet is the right replacement.

It would be good to keep him in Scotland but I do not know if it is going to happen,” he told Football Insider.

He has been injured a few times and has come back. Hibs are a different team when he plays for them.

I like him, I think he is a wonderful talent. Is he what Celtic need? I do not know, I think they might need something different.

If he signed for Celtic I would be delighted because you have got to give him a chance. It really depends on what kind of money Hibs would want.

They would need to check his injury history and make sure everything is ok because apart from that he is a talent and can score goals.

I would not be too upset if he signed but I think if he is going to go anywhere he will go down south.
