Celtic player ratings v Hamilton: Midfielder is sensational
By Emma Sanders
Football Insider rates the performances of each of Celtic’s players during their 3-0 victory against Hamilton on Saturday in the Scottish Premiership.
Craig Gordon 7 – Wasn’t overly tested. Made one save.
Cristian Gamboa 7 – Made a few minor mistakes but recovered well and was reasonably solid. Hamilton’s most promising attacks came from his side though. Almost scored a ‘worldie.’
Mikael Lustig 7 – Had a solid game but wasn’t tested hugely.
Erik Sviatchenko 8 – Almost scored within four minutes and was solid throughout.

Emilio Izaguirre 7 – Made some great overlapping runs but his delivery could have been a little better.
Scott Brown 7 – Could have scored from a set-piece in the first half and was a menace throughout. Good performance.
Stuart Armstrong 8 – Like Brown, the midfielder hassled his Hamilton counterpart and Celtic controlled the game through their central players. Scored a sensational goal.
Callum McGregor 7 – Showed great composure on the ball and set up a terrific chance in the first half. Was sent off but nobody really understands why.
Scott Sinclair 6 – Was fairly quiet in comparison to the rest of the Celtic attack and midfield.
Patrick Roberts 6 – Didn’t make too much impact on the game and was substituted early in the second half.
Leigh Griffiths 8 – – Made a number of fantastic off-the-shoulder runs which caused Hamilton problems and his set-piece deliveries were even better. Got his goal too. Substituted at half-time with a suspected injury.
Moussa Dembele (for Griffiths 45 mins) 7 Didn’t do too much until scoring the goal but that’s why he has proven such a threat this season.
Nir Bitton (for Roberts 50 mins) 5 Didn’t impact the game and a mistake almost proved costly.
James Forrest (for Sinclair 75 mins) 6 Caused problems for Hamilton’s defence.
