Celtic continued their domination of Scottish football with a 2-0 win over Motherwell at Hampden in the Scottish League Cup final on Sunday.

The win was the Hoops’ 65th game without defeat in domestic football as they picked up the first part of a potential back-to-back treble.

Goals from James Forrest and Moussa Dembele secured the trophy for Brendan Rodgers’ side after a tense first-half in which neither side could break the deadlock.

Forrest opened the scoring five minutes into the second-half before Cedric Kipre was sent-off after giving away a penalty for an apparent foul on Dembele.

Despite struggling to get going in the first 45, the Scottish champions never really looked like losing against Stephen Robinson’s side.

After the second goal went in, Celtic used all of their experience to close out the win and lift a fourth successive domestic trophy.
