Celtic ready formal Adam Idah bid – sources

Celtic still have an active interest in Norwich City striker Adam Idah, sources have told Football Insider.

The Hoops are in the market for a senior striker, as Kyogo Furuhashi is currently their only proven frontline option.

Celtic have been speaking to Norwich all summer about the 23-year-old, but no deal is close yet between the two clubs.

Despite that, the Glasgow giants are expected to make a formal bid soon after having a £4million bid rejected in July.

Football Insider revealed that Idah is pushing to join Celtic permanently following his loan spell at the club during the second half of last season.

Idah impressed during his time at Celtic Park, scoring nine goals in 19 appearances as he helped the club win the Scottish Premiership.

The striker failed to turn up for Norwich’s flight to their pre-season camp in Austria last weekend, and the club are expected to discipline him for that.

Celtic want to sign a proven striker like Adam Idah

Brendan Rodgers is in the market for a striker in this window, and he wants someone who is proven and experienced.

Idah has played 115 times for his boyhood club, scoring 17 goals for Norwich during that spell.

The Scottish giants have already kickstarted the 2024-25 campaign with a dominant 4-0 win against Kilmarnock.

It wasn’t all good news for Celtic last weekend though, as Furuhashi appeared to pick up an injury during the season opener.

Although the striker did play the entire game, he was visibly limping after a tackle from Robby McCrorie.
