Celtic’s stance on January transfer window revealed amid Brendan Rodgers exit concern
Celtic have been knocked off the top of the table as underinvestment in the squad is becoming increasingly more apparent.
Celtic fans have been protesting over the club’s ownership following an underwhelming summer transfer window.
Little was spent ahead of the 2025-26 campaign as the Hoops now face a potential exodus of it’s best stars.
Sources told Football Insider that Brendan Rodgers is trying to stop Daizen Maeda leaving Celtic amid his side’s spiralling form.
A 0-0 draw against Hibernian on 27 September was a clear sign of the club’s decline as a result of a lack of investment with Hearts topping the Scottish Premiership.

Celtic underinvestment to tip Brendan Rodgers’ exit over the edge
As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the Bhoys’ board are seemingly reluctant to back the Northern Irishman in the transfer market.
Sources told Football Insider that contract talks between Rodgers and Celtic collapsed following his disappointment with the summer transfer dealings.
Speaking on the Inside Track podcast over a crucial moment in the ex-Liverpool boss’ tenure, I explained: “The other question mark over Celtic spending big in January is question marks over Brendan Rodgers long-term future as well.

“The Celtic board will need to back their manager in the January window with the possibility that he could leave at the end of his contract in the summer.
“I think there’ll be major question marks over that as well. look, it’s, don’t think this protest or anything are going to go away anytime soon as well, but I don’t think they will have any major impact on what the board are thinking of doing in January.
Alistair Johnston to target Premier League dream as Celtic players expected to flee
Football Insider exclusively revealed on 20 September that Alistair Johnston could leave Celtic to play in the Premier League.

The 26-year-old is currently sidelined through injury but has quickly worked his way up to become one of Rodgers’ most dependable men.
The Canada international was electric last season and grabbed 10 assists courtesy of his dynamic running down the right-hand side.
If the Hoops continue their worrying decline, Johnston will certainly be on the radar of English top-flight clubs as he forces an exit from Celtic Park.
