Celtic should phone Martin O’Neill immediately after Wilfried Nancy sacking
Celtic were once again embarrassed on Tuesday as they fell to a 2-0 defeat to Motherwell.
The Hoops were completely played off the park as they missed a chance to go top of the Scottish Premiership.
Reo Hatate was dreadful for Celtic, with the Old Firm side remaining three points behind Hearts in second.
However, it has no become clear that Wilfried Nancy, who was already under pressure at Celtic, is not capable of delivering this title, and the board have to bring Martin O’Neill back.
Celtic must bring back Martin O’Neill
O’Neill was Celtic’s saviour earlier in the season when he won seven of his eight games in charge of the Hoops to put their season back on track.
Upon leaving Celtic Park, he made the Old Firm side the favourites once again for the title and in a strong position to reach the knockout stages in the Europa League.
However, Nancy has undone all of this hard work, and there is a good chance that the Hoops end the campaign trophyless under the Frenchman.

Therefore, Celtic needs to sack the Frenchman immediately after he was once again exposed in the Scottish Premiership.
O’Neill, who has been the favourite to come in if Nancy were sacked, needs to come back, and the board should immediately phone the 73-year-old to make this happen.
What did Wilfried Nancy say after the Motherwell defeat?
Nancy’s reign at Celtic has evidently been a disaster to date.
There have been few positives in many of the games, and even the ones that Celtic have won have come with good fortune.
- Nancy was only appointed as Celtic manager in December and was given a two-and-a-half year deal
- However, five defeats in seven matches have seen supporters quickly turn on the manager
- Nancy is now under heavy pressure going into the Old Firm derby on Saturday in what could be his last chance
However, the Frenchman is not prepared to give up yet, and remains confident in his abilities that he can turn their current situation around if given the chance.
He told BBC Scotland on 30 December: “Yes. I need to see my players, I need to see them in these situations, I need to rest some players. Now it is time to get better and keep working because it is the only thing we can control.”
