Celtic star must ignore the latest attention-seeking diatribe by Joey Barton

COMMENT

Former Rangers flop Joey Barton is trying to provoke a fight with Celtic captain Scott Brown with his latest comments, which the Hoops man should do his best to ignore.

Barton, who left Rangers last season shortly after being embarrassed by Brown in a 5-1 loss at Celtic Park, made disparaging comments about the Hoops skipper on The Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast on Talksport.

The comments were made by Barton after Brown was involved in a controversial incident with Motherwell’s Cedric Kipre which saw the Fir Park player sent-off in the match between the teams on Sunday.

“Has Scott Brown been cheating again? “It seems to me he is a little bit short. He doesn’t look the full ticket to me” Barton said, as reported by the Daily Record.

Barton has always courted controversy with his actions on and off the pitch, and this latest diatribe is no different. Hopefully the Hoops skipper knows better than to get involved with Barton, as this is what he wants to happen.

Brown has already done his talking on the pitch against Barton, there is no need for the Hoops skipper to fire back at Barton, who quite clearly hasn’t got over his embarrassing performance when he came up against Brown on the pitch last season.
