Celtic player can clinch big money move if he puts Zenit to the sword - view
Moussa Dembele has had a relatively disappointing second season so far at Celtic.
The 21-year-old Frenchman, who scored 32 goals last season, has looked a shadow of the player he was, as injuries and poor performances have took their toll.
He was even dropped from the first-team after Hoops manager Brendan Rodgers worried that transfer speculation was affecting his form.
He didn’t leave in January and he is back in the first-team and set to face Zenit in the Europa League last 32 first leg clash at Celtic Park.
The striker has done very well for the Hoops in Europe, scoring three goals in the Champions League group stages last season and one – against PSG – this season.
It was Dembele’s double against Manchester City in Europe last season which put him firmly on the radar. If he is able to replicate the performance against Zenit, there is a good chance that a club in England could make a move for him in the summer.
The Hoops are underdogs going into the game against Roberto Mancini’s side, and it would be a real statement of intent by the Frenchman if he was able to put them to the sword at Celtic Park.
Dembele’s future is in his own hands, if he wants that move to England he’ll have to start impressing soon.
