Celtic star Nicolas Kuhn has been transformed in just weeks – and it’s all down to one teammate

Nicolas Kuhn has been “amazing” in recent performances for Celtic and his new-found confidence is needed in the squad.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Hoops and West Ham striker Frank McAvennie admitted that he won’t yet get his hopes up on Kuhn’s long-term impact, but was impressed with his improvement.

Many fans were unconvinced by the winger in his first run of games after his reported £3million move from Rapid Vienna in January.

However, Kuhn has grown into the side and has produced some influential performances for Brendan Rodgers’ inconsistent Hoops – most recently bagging a goal and assist against St Johnstone on Saturday (16 March).

Nicolas Kuhn has been “amazing” after his slow start at Celtic

McAvennie claimed that Kuhn’s influence is “what Celtic need right now” and suggested he could form a dangerous partnership with Alistair Johnston on the right flank.

“I’m not going to get too excited about Kuhn just yet,” he told Football Insider.

“We did the same with Luis Palma.

“But Kuhn definitely has something – he’s done alright so far.

“His first couple of games at Celtic, I didn’t know what he was doing!

“He kept taking the ball and passing it backwards.

“It’s amazing what a couple of weeks can do because now he has confidence.

“That’s what Celtic need right now.

“He and Alistair Johnston could have a wonderful partnership down the right-hand side.
