Celtic goalkeeper Craig Gordon has paid tribute to the Scottish core at the heart of Celtic.
Kieran Tierney, Callum McGregor and James Forrest all stood out in Celtic’s 2-1 defeat to Bayern Munich at Celtic Park.
Speaking to STV Sport, Gordon said “They were brilliant. James was a threat every time he got on the ball. It was a really fantastic performance.”
“Scottish guys who are going in there and doing it at the highest level and didn’t look out of place.”
Forrest produced a man of the match performance in what may well be his best game yet for Celtic.
McGregor scored Celtic’s goal on the night and continued his knack of scoring big goals in big games.
As for Tierney, his legend seems to grow with every game, and it only seems a matter of time before a Premier League club attempt to sign him.
The players could very well be at the heart of the Scottish national team for years to come.
All three have been included for the game against the Netherlands a week on Thursday.
The three players will next be in action – tiredness permitting – for Celtic this weekend as the Hoops aim to set a new unbeaten domestic record of 63 games.
