Celtic defender Mikael Lustig has slammed Barcelona sensation Neymar as football’s biggest actor.
The Brazilian forward, 25, is widely regarded as one of the outstanding and most admired players in world football.
But right-back Lustig, whose position is directly against left-sided attacker Neymar, insists there is a less appealing side to Neymar’s game.
Asked ahead of Sweden’s World Cup Qualifier tie against Belarus who is football’s biggest actor, Lustig told Swedish media outlet Expressen: “Neymar. He always falls very light, you can barely touch him.”
The pair have previous on the pitch too as they clashed as Celtic met Barcelona in a Champions League match back in November at a packed Celtic Park.
Lustig and Neymar battled throughout the 90 minutes and things eventually came to a head when Neymar reacted angrily to a challenge on him from the Swede.
An angry exchange ensued and both both players were booked, though immediately after the match the Celtic man laughed off the claims that there was an issue between the players.
The Swedish international told the Daily Record: “There weren’t any heavy tackles, it was just two guys who moaned at each other. It was nothing special.”
While Lustig travels to Sweden to take on Belarus, Neymar has travelled with Brazil to Uruguay to take them on in a World Cup Qualifier.
Lustig, who has featured for the Hoops 42 times this season in all competitions, will have to be wary if his Celtic side draw Neymar’s Barcelona in next season’s Champions League because there could be fireworks.
In other Celtic news, this midfielder has revealed he is thriving under the pressure of playing for Celtic.
