Scotland’s line-up in last night’s 3-0 World Cup qualifying win over Lithuania had an incredible six Celtic players starting.
Craig Gordon, Kieran Tierney, Scott Brown, James Forrest, Stuart Armstrong and Leigh Griffiths all started in in Vilnius as Gordon Strachan’s side took a step closer to qualification for Russia 2018.
Goals from Stuart Armstrong, Andrew Robertson and James McArthur were enough to propel the Scots into third place in Group F on goal difference.
Football Insider rates the Celtic players from Scotland’s win as the Bhoys dominated Strachan’s selection:
Craig Gordon – 7
Celtic’s number one was rarely troubled by the Lithuanian frontline.
Dealt with the little that came his way confidently and never looked like conceding.
Kieran Tierney – 7
Played out of position at right back, Tierney didn’t get forward as often as he does in the hoops but still put in an assured performance.
With Andy Robertson on the opposite flank, Tierney may have to settle for for a spot at right back for the forseeable future.
Scott Brown – 7
Good night for the Scotland and Celtic captain.
Went about his business with the minimum of fuss and was constantly looking to take the ball.
Always available and dropping into gaps left by his team-mates to quell any Lithuanian attacks.
