Former Man City youngster Boyata has formed a solid pairing with Simunovic in defence and, when both are fit, should be Celtic’s first-choice defensive duo.
The 26-year-old defender struggled to initially get into Rodgers’ side however he has proven to the manager that the Hoops are a weaker side without him.
With a decent goalscoring record for the Bhoys, it’s not just in defence Boyata has made an impression on the Celtic support.
