‘Celtic to land £14m profit after brilliant Nicolas Kuhn deal agreed’
Celtic have agreed a “brilliant” deal for Nicolas Kuhn as they are set to make a £14million profit following his exit.
The 25-year-old, who has attracted interest from several clubs, including RB Leipzig and Newcastle United, has agreed to join Como.
Football Insider revealed on 7 July Kuhn was undergoing his medical with the Serie A Club.
The deal is believed to be worth up to £17.3million for the German winger, with Celtic in line for a significant profit following his sale.
Brendan Rodgers’s side signed Kuhn for £3million from Rapid Vienna in January last year.
Finance expert Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider these deals are “transformational” for the likes of Celtic.
Kuhn registered 21 goals and 15 assists in 51 appearances last season, helping Celtic claim the Scottish Premiership title and the Scottish League Cup.

Celtic could put themselves in ‘amazing’ position
Borson insisted Celtic could put themselves in an “amazing” position if they can continue making substantial profits on player sales.
He told Football Insider: “It’s one of the biggest deals that they’ve done for a while.
“Clearly, the profit is brilliant. It’s £14million profit or something like that, so those are the deals that are transformational for any of the Scottish teams.
“If either Celtic, Rangers or somebody else can start producing player-trading profits on a regular basis either at the academy or by buying and developing and then selling on, it’s going to put them in an amazing position because it’s going to effectively guarantee them Champions League football if they can keep bringing these players through.
“Now, the challenge is can you keep finding replacements if you are selling?
“But if you can do that, if you can find a way to take the money here, reinvest it into three or four similar players to the one you just sold, similar profile in terms of bought for sub £5million and sold for nearly €20million (£17.3million).
“If you can keep doing that, then clearly you’re going to produce a transformational business compared to where you’ve been before, where profits from player sales have been very disappointing.”

Celtic respond to Tottenham’s interest in Daizen Maeda
In terms of another potential exit, Daizen Maeda has been linked with a move to Tottenham following his impressive performances last season.
However, Celtic Park chiefs are looking for a fee of around £25million to sanction an exit for the Japan international, with Rodgers keen to retain his services.
The 27-year-old forward registered 33 goals and 12 assists in 51 appearances in the 2024-25 season.
