Celtic to now sell multiple stars in January – ‘I understand why’, says pundit
Celtic will sell multiple players in January who “don’t contribute” to the side.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Rangers and Aston Villa defender Alan Hutton claimed he understood why Brendan Rodgers would want to trim his oversized squad.
The Hoops have numerous players who have yet to make over 10 league appearances this season, including summer signings Odin Thiago Holm, Gustaf Lagerbielke and Maik Nawrocki.

Sources have told Football Insider (9 January) that the Hoops could lose youngster Rocco Vata after they granted Serie A side Bologna permission to speak to him and agree terms to a move to Italy.
Hutton admitted he does not expect a huge number of exits this month, but was adamant that some players would depart due to the difficulty of their squad size.
“I wouldn’t expect loads of outgoings in January,” he told Football Insider.
“No team wants to lose too many, but it’s very difficult with the size of their squad.
“Even taking daily training sessions can be tough if everybody’s fit, so I can understand why this is happening and Rodgers wants to lighten the load.
“If people don’t contribute weekly or play, then of course the club are going to move people on.

“Ultimately, you want places where you can bring in your targets and make the team better.
“To do that is easier said than done.”
