Celtic told to accept Albian Ajeti offer after confirmed news

Alan Hutton has told Celtic to “cut their losses” on Albian Ajeti.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Rangers defender said Ajeti has had more than enough chances to prove his worth at Parkhead.

The 26-year-old is set to return to the Hoops this month following an unsuccessful loan spell at Austrian top flight side Sturm Graz.

As quoted by The Herald (29 May), sporting director Andrews Schicker said that the club will not be exercising their option to buy the striker because he “didn’t get into the right rhythm” and had too many injury issues throughout the campaign.

The Switzerland international scored three goals in 15 Austrian Bundesliga appearances and struggled with various injuries throughout the season.

Ajeti still has a year remaining on his Celtic contract as he returns to Glasgow.

When asked if the Hoops will look to cut their losses on the forward, Hutton told Football Insider:I think so.

He is probably on a decent contract. They signed him for decent money and it has not really worked out.

He has had ample opportunities, has been out on loan, so it is a shame.

Going into the last year of his contract he needs to go and prove that he is capable. But whether the manager gives him that opportunity, I do not think so.

I think he has had enough chances in the team so I think they will try and cut their losses.
