Celtic told to complete ‘£3m’ Carter-Vickers deal in January after insider’s reveal – McAvennie
Frank McAvennie wants Celtic to sign Cameron Carter-Vickers on a permanent basis this January.
The former Hoops hitman, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, was impressed by the Tottenham loanee’s performance in Sunday’s (19 December) Premier Sports Cup final.
Carter-Vickers, 23, played the full 90 minutes as Celtic won their first piece of silverware under Ange Postecoglou with a 2-1 win over Hibs.

On 1 December, Record Sport reported the Hoops will need to shell out £10m to convert the defender’s season-long loan into a permanent deal.
However, Tottenham insider John Wenham has told this site (6 December) the fee is likely to be closer to £3million.
McAvennie wants Celtic to complete the signing after being left less than impressed with Carl Starfelt.
“Starfelt wasn’t quite at it against Hibs” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“For me, he was a bit sloppy. He was letting his man get past him far too easily.
“You could see that for the goal Hibs scored. Carter-Vickers on the other hand was brilliant.
“I’m starting to really like him. He’s been really solid in recent weeks.
“For me, he’s been the one who has played a big role in improving that defence.
“Joe Hart also has to take massive credit for that but Carter-Vickers has been playing every game for a reason.
“If it’s only going to cost £3million I would get that done in January, pay the money.
“Then he’s ours and we don’t need to worry about it.”

Carter-Vickers has made 23 appearances for Celtic.
He has also scored two goals for the club.
In other news, Celtic have been warned by an English pundit about “overboard celebrations” amid a “runaway” Rangers claim.
