Celtic told who they must appoint as manager ‘if they want to win the title again’
Celtic may have reduced the gap to six points with victory over Falkirk, but there next managerial appointment could decide the destination of the Scottish Premiership title.
Martin O’Neill took charge of his first match as interim manager in the 4-0 thrashing of Falkirk after Brendan Rodgers resigned as Celtic boss.
Celtic’s 3-1 defeat at Hearts had given the Edinburgh club an eight point advantage at the top of the table, but the Jambos’ 2-2 draw at St Mirren meant the gap has been reduced.
Hearts could reinstate their eight point lead though if they beat Dundee with Celtic in League Cup semi-final action against Rangers.

Celtic must bring back Ange Postecoglou
Ange Postecoglou has been linked with a return for a second spell in charge having previously managed the club between 2021 and 2023.
Postecoglou was sacked by Nottingham Forest after 39 days this season and is currently out of work.
Speaking to Sky Sports, [30 October], Paul Merson believes Celtic need to bring Postecoglou back.
“I was shocked [by Rodgers’ resignation]. I know Celtic haven’t been great this season. But, for the first time in a long time, they have got a challenge. A proper challenge. I was quite shocked, if I am being honest,” Merson said.
“I am a big fan of Brendan Rodgers. I think it’s disrespectful when people go, ‘oh, it’s Celtic. Anybody can manage Celtic. They are the best team.”
“I think it’s difficult. I think that’s why Ange will go back to Celtic, in my opinion. I think you need somebody to go in there who knows the league and has been there before.
“We have seen Rangers managers go in and been blown away. You are the Celtic manager, every game you play, it’s a cup final for the other team, and you have to get your players up every week. It’s not as easy as people think it is.
“I think Ange would tick the box. If they want to win the Premiership again. I think Ange needs to go in there.”

Celtic handed Kieran McKenna blow
Ipswich Town boss Kieran McKenna is also one of the names high on the shortlist to lure to Celtic Park.
McKenna would need convincing to leave Ipswich for Celtic mid-season as the 39-year-old looks to secure the Tractor Boys an immediate return to the Premier League.
A compensation package would also have to be agreed with Ipswich, whilst no such obstacles would stand in the way of a Postecoglou return.
