Celtic transfers: Rodgers ‘tests the board’ with new January claim

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has tested the board with his comments about having one or two areas of the squad that he wants to strengthen.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, former Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson, believes that Rodgers thinks he needs “a little bit more” to get the squad over the line.

Celtic are currently still competing in all competitions after an impressive start to the season, and Rodgers is now looking to improve his squad to take them to the next level.

However, Football Insider revealed that Rodgers is unlikely to be given the finances to do that in the January transfer window.

That’s why Robinson believes that Rodgers’ comments were done to test the board in a bid to try and unlock some money to spend.

Brendan Rodgers is testing the Celtic board right now

“He’s saying that to test the board,” Robinson told Football Insider.

“He’s quite happy with what he’s got at moment, Brendan Rodgers.

“Deep down, he might have a little inclination that his Celtic team are going to get through to the next round of the Champions League.

“So, I’m thinking that he’s testing the board.
