'Outstanding', 'Brilliant' - Celtic fans rave about one player in particular after win against Dundee
By James Black
James Forrest kept up his fantastic recent form with a second brace in two games in the 4-0 drubbing of Dundee on Wednesday night – and Celtic fans are now demanding he starts against Rangers on Saturday.
The winger scored in each half as the Hoops eased by Dundee to book a place in the semi-final of the Scottish League Cup as he took his goal tally to six for the season.
Despite being played in an unfamiliar wing-back role, Forrest, 26, had a brilliant game and constantly put Dundee’s defence under pressure as Brendan Rodgers’ side took their unbeaten domestic run to 56 games.
With Rangers and Anderlecht as Celtic’s next two opponents, two big performances from Forrest could go a long way to cementing his first-team spot this season.
Forrest’s display had fans debating whether he or Patrick Roberts should start at Ibrox and there was only one winner among the Celtic support as they took to social media en masse to rave about the man of the moment.

No way he will drop Forrest so he will play. Only change I would have is Armstrong for Ntcham

Forrest was widely expected to be a fringe player after Roberts’ return on a season-long loan but the 25-year-old is in some of the best form of his career just now and it would be near unthinkable for Rodgers to drop him this weekend.
