Celtic player ratings v Hibernian: Midfield duo 4/10 in nervy Parkhead clash

By James Black

Celtic huffed and puffed their way to a 2-2 draw with Neil Lennon’s Hibernian side at Parkhead on Saturday afternoon.

Brendan Rodgers made five changes to the side who faced Anderlecht in midweek with Jozo Simunovic, Scott Brown, Leigh Griffiths, Scott Sinclair and Patrick Roberts all dropping out for Johnny Hayes, James Forrest, Callum McGregor, Moussa Dembele and Odsonne Edouard.

Doubles for Callum McGregor and John McGinn cancelled each other out as Celtic extended their unbeaten domestic run to 58 games.

The Hoops will be glad to have escaped with a point and will have Craig Gordon to thank after the keeper pulled off a fantastic stop to deny Steven Whittaker.

Neil Lennon came so close to ending Celtic’s run on his return to Parkhead as a manager but will have to settle for a point after a late equaliser from McGregor.
