Celtic will attempt to flog Moussa Dembele to the highest bidder in the summer transfer window, according to a report.
The Daily Record claims that Dembele, 21, could potentially fetch a high transfer fee which may mean it would be easier to turn down any potential bids for Kieran Tierney with Manchester United firming their interest.
It is understood that Tierney, 20, would be worth at least £20million with United’s scouts signalling that he would be a much cheaper option that Juventus’ Alex Sandro as Jose Mourinho aims to overhaul his defence.
The Scotland international’s support for Celtic may be a key factor though, as could a potential bidding war for Dembele.
The first-team has been in stunning form since moving to Glasgow from Fulham in 2016.
He has made 81 appearances in all competitions for the Bhoys and scored 45 goals in just under two seasons.
Football Insider verdict
It seems that Celtic may lose at least one of their highly-valued assets in the summer. Dembele has been widely linked with a move to the Premier League in the last year and it seems that this summer could be the time for him to move on. The Frenchman has done all he can really do in Scotland. He has played and scored in big Champions League games as well as won all there is to win. The ex-Fulham man has proved that he can bag the goals and that should be enough to secure a move to the Premier League. There are big things on the horizon for both Dembele and Tierney.
