Celtic will accept Josip Juranovic offer after source's reveal - McManus

Celtic will jump at the chance to sell Josip Juranovic if he impresses at the World Cup.

That’s according to former Hibernian striker Tam McManus, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the defender’s future.

On Thursday (17 November), sources told this site that the Celts have given the green light to the 27-year-old for a January exit.

The Parkhead club have tried to secure a new deal for the defender but he is keen to listen to offers from elite clubs.

Celtic are willing to cash in on the Croatia international, whose current deal runs until 2026, if their asking price is met and are braced for offers after the World Cup.

“I can see the idea behind that [selling him],” McManus told Football Insider‘s Ben Wild.

“Last season, when he came in, I thought he was outstanding. This season I don’t think he has been as good, that could be for a number of reasons.

“He hasn’t been as consistent and I have seen a little bit of criticism for him from some Celtic fans. When you look at him and what Celtic paid for him, there is a real opportunity to make a big profit on him.

“If he goes away to the World Cup with Croatia and impresses and good offers come in for him then I think Chelsea would take it.

“They would take the money and sell him on because he has fallen off in terms of his performances this season.”

Juranovic has not featured in six of Celtic’s last seven league games.

He has made 50 total appearances for the club.
