Celtic will only wait a few more weeks for ‘top choice’ Vinicius Souza after journalist’s update – pundit

Alan Hutton has suggested Celtic will only wait “a few more weeks” to secure Vinicius Souza’s signature, despite him being a top target.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Rangers defender said that Ange Postecoglou will want to know the players he’s going to be working with sooner rather than later.

According to Keith Jackson, reported in the Daily Record (6 July), the Hoops are pushing the 23-year-old to make a decision on his future.

Souza currently has a year left on his contract with Spanish side Espanyol.

The Brazilian spent last season on loan with Belgian side Lommel.

When asked how long he thought the Scottish champions should wait before giving up on the player, Hutton told Football Insider: “I think Celtic will have different options right now as we speak.

Obviously he’s their top choice, he’s in all the media. He looks a real good player, for one so young, I think he’s in that defensive mould. He’s strong, physically he looks good.

When you have that many teams after you, his phone’s probably red hot daily, it’s probably a bit annoying. He’ll just want to secure his future.

Celtic

So, Celtic as one of many teams will have to put a time limit on it. The manager and the club in general will want to know what they have to work with moving forward. So, they will quickly move on that’s what happens in football it’s a bit of a cut throat nature.

They’ll give him probably a few weeks. If they’ve given him a deal that they see is worthy for him and he’s not going to accept it then they’ll probably just move on.

In other news, an expert has suggested this may be real reason behind Karamoko Dembele’s exit from Celtic.
